THE REST OF THE STORY
I would like to nominate a driver off of Liz's board, Don Hatler, for the driver recognition this month.
Don has been with us for almost a year and in that time he has kept his truck moving crash free and with a low idle percentage as well as RA score. Each time I speak to him he always mentions safe driving and often will share some of his experiences that exemplify his safe driving techniques. Don is always there to share information with other drivers and will reach out to anyone who needs help, even if they are not with Swift. He is an open book of knowledge and Don says, "I like to continue to pass this on, just like my mentor taught me to." I can count on Don to cover the loads that other drivers are reluctant to take without hesitation or complaints. He works hard and understands the need to get all loads covered even if they are less than desirable. Off the "field" so to speak, Don is a great father, friend, and husband. At this time, his wife is battling cancer and Don makes sure he is home every month to be with her while she has her chemo treatments. He takes a day or two to makes sure things are in order at home for his wife and then will be back on the road without taking any time for himself. I believe Don to be an exemplary employee who is dedicated, hard working, and puts everyone before himself.
